Administrative Coordinator

Jon Rogers is the Administrative Coordinator at Canvass for a Cause. He used to work construction, but wanted to do something more important to him. He had a couple stints with Green Peace and GCI, and what eventually led him to CFAC was when he saw Tres canvassing. He saw him with a clipboard on the street and, having been a canvasser himself, went up and asked him what he was doing. After speaking with Tres, he decided to join the organization.

Jon finds human rights issues super important, especially when there is this tidal wave of negative BS being thrown at us. “We have to be that wall to stop that, the breaking point where we can make that difference. Someone has to make a stand,” says Jon. “I definitely believe we can accomplish anything because of the passion that everyone here has. That in itself can move mountains.”

He would like to see marriage equality finally established in California, as well as the overturn of DOMA. He does not want to see the opponents of the FAIR Education Act succeed with their initiative to repeal it. Again, he believes we have to be that wall where we say "you can go no further, this is BS." He definitely wants to see success with Occupy, as the Occupy movement is something that affects all of us. He would like to see the dissolution of the way the banking systems are established. He would like to see it go as far as the doing away of the Federal Reserve. He believes that the ultimate thing we can accomplish—it seems radical, but to be honest—we shouldn't put the printing of the money into private hands.

Something that might surprise people about Jon is that he truly and utterly enjoys the sound that a kazoo makes.
