Deputy membership Coordinator
Shannon Dove is the Deputy Membership Coordinator at Canvass for a Cause. Before CFAC, she worked for a corporation that raised funds for a nonprofit, but she realized it was all about the money and it was not making a difference day-to-day. She found out about CFAC, called the Executive Director, got an interview, and got hired. She has been in love ever since.
Shannon is extremely passionate about the work that CFAC does. She has always felt that face-to-face conversations and going out there, educating people, and having that personal interaction is the way we can actually make a difference in the world.
She hopes that, in the next five to ten, years CFAC will spread across the US, with offices in every single state, and that we will be changing the political process daily. "We are already changing things on a smaller scale here in San Diego," she says. "We have gone up in front of elected officials and we go out to have face-to-face conversations. We have seen that our work has made a difference, and, if we can do that across the country, we will be a force to be reckoned with."
Something surprising about Shannon is that she did roller skate dancing. It is like figure skating but on roller skates.
She says, "On a final note, I just want to say that Canvass for a Cause is amazing. I will keep working here until I cannot do it anymore. There have been days when I have said 'I cannot do this anymore,' but then I have gotten up the next day. I cannot stop because I will not stop."
