There are many great organizations doing good work for some large and notable causes. The question we ask ourselves is where the group organizing or fundraising groups for the smaller causes. Who is fundraising for the battered women’s shelter that can’t keep their doors open in Kansas City? Where are the organizers advocating for the LGBT Center yet to be built in Phoenix AZ? This is where the agility of a group like Canvass for a Cause comes in, and can have the organizing resources and sustainability to work on more specialized campaigns like these, that might not be the sexiest or most lucrative.
HOW: The concept is a revolutionary new hybrid organization that can become the engine for progressive action, while maintaining a self sustaining infrastructure that doesn’t draw from the organizations it supports. By having organizers in the streets full time recruiting volunteers and running projects we can build a movement that doesn’t have to be one day too late and one dollar too short.
